Philosophy

Juanito K. La Viña Sr., born on October 28, 1928, in Leyte, dreamed of becoming a doctor but found his calling in Valencia, Bukidnon, where he married Leontina Parreno in 1951. Together, they raised ten children, overcoming hardships to provide them with education. Driven by a vision of healthcare and education for the underprivileged, they founded Tamay Lang Agricultural Development, Inc. in 1987. This led to the establishment of La Viña General Hospital in 1997, now a leading facility in the area.
In honor of Juanito’s legacy, Leontina and their children are founding Juanito K. La Viña Sr. Colleges Inc., set to open in 2023. The new school, led by Katherine La Viña-Dumadag, aims to address the shortage of nurses and midwives in the country by improving education and training in these fields.
